There’s been so much going on this month, I’ve barely noticed the way December has flown by. If it weren’t for a certain looming holiday (and all the gifts that still need to be wrapped for the present-hungry teenagers living under my roof), I’d probably find myself in an entirely new year, blinking around, wondering what the heck happened.
Still, here I am with this month’s blog – late, but happy. Story of my life, really.
There have been some terrific book-related events out in the world this December, but one of the best is Read a New Book Month. What better time to try out a new author or a new genre? Winter weather is pretty much tailor-made for curling up and getting lost in a great story.
Luckily, the Second Chances box sets came out at the beginning of the month, and they’re full of the kind of relatable characters, crackling dialogue, and steamy bliss that have made the series such a reader favorite! If you haven’t
snagged your copies yet, you can dive in and grab them up at a reduced price all through the end of the year. Or, if you’re more the toe-in-the-water type, you can sample Finding Home (book one) for free, and Finding Love (book two) for only 99 cents during that time! Don’t keep all that joy just for yourself, though – give them as gifts, too (in paperback or ebook), and your romance-loving friends are sure to thank you.
Maybe you’ve already done that, though, and are looking for something to hold you over until my new Triple Threat Series comes out next year… oh yes, that. Keep your eyes peeled, because I’ll be dropping more details about the trilogy on social media and the blog really soon! Suffice it to say, these books are going to be hot! I’m totally in love already. I admit I’m probably a tad biased.
Until then, though…
The indie authors and book bloggers over on Twitter have exactly what you need. Between #DectheShelves and #Indiecember, there are hordes of book recommendations floating around, and you are bound to find something there to keep you warm and toasty. I, for one, have been trying out some new-to-me writers, and let me tell you…I’ve found some crazy-good ones. Check out my recommendations on Goodreads and BookBub, to find out what some of my recent five-star reads have been!
That’s it for this month. I’m off to put the finishing touches on my work-in-progress, wrestle with some wrapping paper, and wallow in the holiday fudge. Thank you, as always, for all your sweet reviews – they truly are the best gifts an author can receive.
Till next month – may your holidays be full of love and real romance.
